🔒 General Safety Tips (For All Battery Types)
- ✅ Always install batteries in well-ventilated, dry areas
- ✅ Use insulated tools and wear protective gloves when handling
- ✅ Keep batteries away from children and pets
- ✅ Ensure correct polarity (+/-) during installation
- ✅ Disconnect battery from device/system before any servicing
🚫 Never Do the Following
- ❌ Do not short-circuit the battery terminals
- ❌ Do not expose batteries to fire, direct sunlight, or high heat
- ❌ Do not open, puncture, or dismantle the battery
- ❌ Do not overcharge or deep discharge the battery repeatedly
- ❌ Do not mix old and new batteries or different brands/types together
🔋 Lead-Acid Battery Safety
- 🧪 Avoid contact with battery acid; it can cause burns.
- 🧯 Store in upright position to prevent spillage
- ⚠️ Ensure proper water level (if not maintenance-free) — use only distilled water
- 💨 Keep away from flames or sparks — charging may release flammable gases
- 🧼 In case of acid contact with skin/eyes, rinse with water and seek medical help immediately
⚡ Lithium Battery Safety (Li-ion / LiFePO₄)
- 🔌 Use only Infilith-approved chargers and inverters
- 🧊 Store in cool, dry places — away from direct heat or moisture
- 🔋 Do not crush, drop, or expose to physical impact
- ⚠️ Avoid charging unattended for long periods
- 🧯 In case of smoke, overheating, or swelling — disconnect and isolate battery immediately
🔋 All Infilith lithium batteries come with in-built BMS (Battery Management System) for added safety
☀️ Solar & Inverter Battery Safety
- 📦 Install in shaded, ventilated areas (preferably on a trolley/stand)
- 🔌 Ensure inverter is compatible with battery type (especially lithium)
- ⚠️ Do not overload inverter beyond recommended wattage
- 🛠️ Use proper wiring and fuses — avoid DIY setups unless trained
🛑 Signs of Battery Failure / Danger
Watch out for the following warning signs:
- Swelling or bulging of battery casing
- Leakage of acid or fluid
- Burning smell or smoke
- Unusual heat during charge or discharge
- Reduced backup or abnormal performance
Action: Stop using immediately and contact Infilith customer support.
🧯 Fire & Emergency Guidelines
- Use Class D or ABC dry chemical fire extinguishers
- Do not use water on electrical or lithium battery fires
- In case of fire, isolate area and call local fire services
🧹 Battery Disposal & Recycling
- Never throw batteries in household waste
- Deposit at authorized battery recycling points or return to your dealer
